Mary A. Huff has more than 25 years experience in public relations and marketing
communications. She creates campaigns that change public opinion, launch new
products/concepts and spark new trends for some of the country’s most recognized
brands. She is experienced in developing and executing major programs in the areas
of new product/property introductions, brand positioning, strategic alliances, media
relations and writing.
Prior to joining Inklusion PR, Mary spent seven years at Fleishman-Hillard as Managing
Supervisor. As lead media relations expert and writer for the introduction of Acuvue
Oasys Brand Contact Lenses by Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, she positioned the
moisture-rich product as ideal for battling the low humidity of airline travel. After
“test drives” with JetBlue flight attendants, she generated rave reviews in such
publications as Forbes fyi, Men’s Health and Women’s Health.
For the Viking Range Corporation account, she was responsible for building the brand
by placing articles in Home magazine, Renovation Style, Traditional Home, Dwell, The
Robb Report, The New York Times and hundreds of other media outlets, including
industry trades as well as regional and local publications. In the area of brand
management, she evaluated television and film product placements and created
strategic alliances with top New York chefs. She elevated the backyard barbecue to
luxury status by creating media coverage for the concept of outdoor kitchens,
including coverage on Good Morning America.
She generated media coverage for the introduction of The Viking Culinary Arts
Centers, a retail store and cooking school, delivering an impressive amount of reviews
and features by thinking outside the box. In addition to working with lifestyle and
food editors for daily newspapers, home and lifestyle magazines, and radio and
television reporters, she positioned the stores as a destination for culinary
enthusiasts and as a meeting space for team-building and other group events, thus
creating a reason for coverage in meeting planner and travel publications, culminating
in a full-page story in The Wall Street Journal.
Ms. Huff began her career in New York PR agencies where she introduced Black &
Decker’s Dustbuster, launched new games and toys for Parker Brothers/Hasbro and
helped run national and international World Monopoly Championships. She was
instrumental in polishing the image of Hush Puppies shoes and rescuing the image of
polyester for the Man Made Fiber Producers Association. She also introduced new
products and handled ongoing media campaigns for The Irish Export Board, Irish
Distillers, Good Humor Ice Cream, Waring Blenders and Citibank.
A born and raised Georgia peach, Mary currently resides in Atlanta, GA.
